Aubrey Chess Tournament Spring 2025 - Registration

Eligibility:
Player must be 5-17 years old to compete.
Player must be in K-12 grade (can be home schooled) to compete.Â
Registration closes on 03/15 or when maximum number of players reached.
Participation is not confirmed until you receive the confirmation email from us. We will email all participants on 3/15 to confirm their registration..
Tournament Format:
Sections to be determined by number of entries and Tournament Director's discretion.
We will provide chess sets and chess clock.
Each section will have 4 rounds. Each rounds will be 45-60 mins total.Â
Check in starts at 9:00 am.
First round begins at 9:30 am. All other rounds as soon as possible.
There will be no lunch break, but players may bring a snack or lunch.
Players arriving after 9:30 AM will be paired to next round.
Game Rules:
Players must be respectful of other players, tournament officials, and spectators.
If you touch a piece, you must move it if you can.
If you touch an opponent’s piece, you must capture it if you can.
If you take your hand off a piece, the move is over.
The tournament will be played in accordance with the official rules of US Chess.
Disputes will be resolved by the section in-charge and/or tournament director.
No parents will be allowed inside the playing hall.
Prizes:
All participants will receive a prize. There are no team prizes.
Prizes may include trophies, medals, certificates or other awards.
Players must be present to receive the prize.
Liability:
The tournament organizers assume no liability for any injuries or damages sustained by participants or spectators.
Participants and their parents/guardians assume all risks associated with participation in the tournament.
The tournament organizers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time.
Any changes will be announced to participants prior to the tournament.
Acceptance:
Registration for the tournament constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
